01 · Where it all began
YAGI began with my search for statement shirts. I spent hours in secondhand stores because I love the look of the 80s. But finding a shirt I loved, in my size, was hard.
So I wanted to make that style available to everyone: bold patterns and real 80s character, newly made, in every size, and produced sustainably. That became my first Retro Collection.
The freedom to wear whatever you feel like. To stand out, play with colors and patterns and show your own style, without fitting in. That’s what the YAGI Retro Collection is made for: shirts, blouses and shorts.
02 · From shirts to jackets
Next, I wanted to print art straight onto denim jackets. But which art? Which artists do you start with? And with fixed prints, the idea could never grow.
So I flipped it: what if the art could change? After one year of development, we had it: a jacket with an art panel you swap with a zip.
One jacket. Endless art.
— Yağmur, founder of YAGI
03 · The name
YAGI is my nickname, from my name Yağmur, which means “rain” in Turkish. My sister is called Damla, “drop”. Together our names make a raindrop. That’s our logo.
For me, the drop also stands for sustainability: small things that add up.
04 · What we stand for
Every panel comes from a real artist. Every sale pays them.
One jacket, endless looks. Swap the art, keep the jacket.
Deadstock denim and fewer new clothes. Small drops add up.
No fixed rules. Inspired by the streets, the music and the people.
